Matthew M. Nalbandian, M.D.

Dr. Matthew M. Nalbandian is the CEO of Northern Valley Vascular Associates, LLC. He is presently an assistant professor of surgery at NYU Medical Center where he has been on staff since completing his vascular training at NYU in 2000. Dr. Nalbandian has expanded his practice to New Jersey. He operates at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in Englewood, New Jersey and Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey. He is board certified in both general surgery and vascular surgery. Although he treats all aspects of general vascular surgery, his areas of expertise include spine access surgery, venous surgery and endovascular surgery.

Dr. Nalbandian has been instrumental in developing the most recent advances in spine access surgery at NYU Medical Center. He has served as an instructor at national and international spine programs to train other surgeons in the latest techniques of spine access surgery. Dr. Nalbandian has provided spine access for surgeons to place the newest artificial discs in the United States and Europe. His research efforts in this field have been recognized nationally and internationally.

Dr. Nalbandian is responsible for developing the laser vein program at New York University Medical Center. He has trained vascular surgeons the latest techniques in laser vein surgery. In addition, Dr. Nalbandian has trained with world experts to learn the newest techniques in treating venous compression and deep vein thrombosis through minimally invasive techniques. He has a large vein practice and uses the most current techniques to treat all aspect of venous disease. Through his minimally invasive methods, he can offer many treatment options in an outpatient setting.
